I take back part of my review. Doug captured Ezra making a weird face. He IS human!

Also you should come to our Donnybrook party in early June. It will be sans doucheyness and there will be representatives from Vampire Weekend. Representatives of the cardboard cutout type at least. Maybe a Vampire Weekend cover band. Okay they won't return my calls

I would have loved to see them again, but , because of the young crowd, I'm glad I caught them their first time through Denver when it was so empty that Ezra and I maintained eye contact throughout the entire show. That never happened....

Unfortunately VW pulls kind of a douchey crowd of people. There were several verbal fights nearby me on the floor that were frankly just ridiculous in nature. Ezra talked too much but I guess when you only have about 45 minutes of music to play you have to talk to make the night stretch. Overall it was a decent show but they were not loud enough (way too much crowd noise could be heard). Seems like the baseline was too weak. I'll be catching them at Coachella later in the month so hopefully it'll be a better experience.

and about yacht

what's with all these ultra-minimalist bands like yacht there's panther and the blow too i even read about a band in austin who just plays their recorded songs and then dances they don't even sing it's closer to djing but not really they press play and sing in the case of panther there is a drummer now but it used to be just the one guy with his ipod not for rocking out i've seen panther and blow rock the f**k out but then i catch myself sometimes and wonder about other bands trying create live music and how hard that is but then i think too that it is hard to create music live and for a band to play their recorded stuff and just worry about the singing and maybe some dancing or drums in the case of panther they can insure a solid sound for their audience but maybe they're just trying to be all post-modern which i hate most of the time because it's so pretentious and sooooo ironic OOOOOO-live-music-that's-not really-live-but-what-is-live that kind of irony is kids stuff not blow my mind away irony but maybe i'm missing something

but still they rock out so wtf

We're organizing a Donnybrook party for early June.
It's gonna make you sh*t spun sugar!

Julio, you are so right - Vampire Weekend's Donnybrookesque nature is precisely why I'm such a fan. Bravo!

Chase, thanks for the recap on yacht, I was sad to have missed em. Father Guido, you CRAZY son!
