I didn't mind the young puffs frolicking around. I just closed my eyes and danced my silly off. Besides, it's proven to be quite difficult to windmill with a drink in your hand anyways.

What the hell are you whining about, Robin? Never never land is cool, and a dingy never never land is cooler. I think it's great that Hi-dive makes a space for jailbait to mingle with crusty, old pirates like myself. Read my Editors reverb for proof. Seriously, I'm all for it.

And there is good reason why clubs make shows all-ages. Some clubs can't afford the license, like the Larimer Lounge. Some don't want to hire the extra security to "police." There are more reasons, and all of them have to do with the legality and financial constraints. None of the reasons keeping the young'ns from enjoying a show has to do with lame attitudes, as you say. If you get a vibe from the older crowd, f#ck'em. They're just pissed cause they're old and crusty, and you are young and full of sparkle and sunshine.

Peace be with you young grasshopper.

"Making the show all-ages turned the Hi-Dive into a dingy version of Never Never Land."

While I completely respect that the reviewer has his own right to like or dislike a show, it's lame to rag on underage kids for being in your "hip" hangout. I feel like it's attitudes like this that keep MOST of the shows at places like the Hi-Dive and Larimer Lounge 21+. Because some people in Denver just can't deal with lesser human beings disrupting their right to drink and scoff at a show.

Should music be a privilege of the over 21 crowd? I know that there are lots of complicated liquor laws that keep the restriction in place, but honestly, when there is a rare all ages show (which this one was not, it was 16+) what is the point of acting superior and wishing away all the people without magic IDs?

I liked the show. While it may not have been obscure enough for some tastes, the lively & FUN music kept people dancing. And after all, isn't having fun and dancing the point of a DJ set?
