I caught We Are! We Are! at the Meadowlark sometime last summer, having never heard of them before, and had exactly the same reaction. They were perhaps the greatest instrumental band I'd ever seen. Unbelieveable musicianship, and tight techy songs. But, techy songs that were cool and felt natural without succumbing to any of the overwrought geekiness that generally makes me hate both techy music and instrumental music. Talent AND taste in the same band! Reading this review reminds me that I really need to see them again soon.

Once again, great to see this venue, and John's efforts in promotion and booking get their fair due! Great article on a great guy and a great club.

This is the kind of review that makes me anxious to get back to my D-town. I'm sorry I missed it and so happy to hear the scene is exploding and there are good people to fan the flames.

hey, my comment got truncated...! As I was saying, they are one of the hardest working, most energetic, tightest little bands around. Great to see them get some props!
